David Mann joins Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith - Jacob Kitson, Joe Kitson, David MannJon Epley recently announced that he left Statement of Faith to join the Inspirations. David Mann has left the Blackwood Quartet to take the baritone position Epley vacated with Statement of Faith.

Mann is married to Jael Kitson Mann, Jacob and Joe Kitson’s sister; family ties make the transition easy. The three have been singing together, off and on, since summer 2004; Jacob Kitson states that “singing with Dave is nothing new to Joe and I—this is an easy transition that is nearly seven years in the making.” Mann will begin with the group this weekend.

Michael Helwig, who sang with the Stamps Quartet and, more recently, the Homesteaders / Williamsons, will be taking Mann’s place with the Blackwood Gospel Quartet.

6 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. Did I call that or what?!?!?!?!?!

  2. I am curious as to how long Michael Helwig will stay with the Blackwood Gospel Quartet…he was also with the Music City Trio for a period of time after leaving the Williamsons.

  3. Mike is a great singer! Our quartet had the pleasure of singing with the Stamps 4 years ago when it was Joseph Frech on tenor, Ed Enoch on lead, Mike on baritone, and Seth Dillehey on bass. He will do a great job!

  4. I wish pay day would come a lot sooner. I need to get their first CD.

  5. Congratulations David! Looking forward to hearing you!

  6. This is a great move ….Jacob Joe and David sound wonderful together and the 3 will be a up coming gospel group that will shine …..
