Tom and Gail Joyce leave Crist Family

Tom and Gail Joyce, bass singer and live sound engineer (respectively) for the Crist Family, have decided to come off the road after fourteen years with the group. Gail’s mother is in declining health; the Joyces are looking into moving to Montana (not Minnesota, as earlier reports have inaccurately reported) to be closer to Gail’s mother.

When approached manager Rich Crist for comment, he said: “Tom and Gail have been a part of our ministry for over 14 years.  They are very dear friends and have become like part of our family.  We completely understand their desire to retire from traveling and getting closer to their families out west.  We wish them the very best as they move on.”

The Crist Family will continue as a six-member ensemble with an all-family lineup, as Tom and Gail were the only unrelated members.

3 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. I count Tom as a dear friend and I hate to see him and Gail leave the road. He is an extremely underated bass singer and one of the nicest men you will ever come across. I wish them both the best!!

    • Yes, he is a very nice man (and underrated). I hate to see him go, though of course I simply can’t complain when the reason is taking care of ailing parents!

  2. To the poster whose comments were deleted: Read the ground rules right above the comment box. That’s why they were deleted. In your case, it looks like you know where to take your concerns—and a public conversation is certainly not that place.
