8 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. Ok, good list! Now if the right person is reading…how about Cecil Blackwood. I know people had a problem with his money pitches, but with out the funds they could never have gone to so many countries with the gospel. And, I don’t know any one who sang with the same group, same part, and never missed a concert for 46 years. How about it?

    • The right people are the members of the SGMA, which you are welcome to join! The website is http://www.sgma.org.

I joined a year or two back to help out someone who was pushing for Sam Goodman to get in. (And the push succeeded!)

  2. The title of this post jumped out at me in the comments feed a minute ago. It’s missing a “c.”

  3. How about Burl Strevel.Fred Daniels.Bill Crowe.Donnie Seabolt.LaVerne Tripp Now There Was Some Singin…I Love Those Guys…THE BLUE RIDGE QUARTET and MARK IV…

    • That was a great line up…I remember seeing Burl Strevel live in the 70s. Wow!

    • I so agree, Robbie, there have never been, any better. They were one great groop.

  4. Interesting to me that Willie Wynn is best remembered as a member of “Oak Ridge” than his own group “Willie Wynn and the Tennesseans”. Hmmm…
