Brian Free’s mother passes away

Brian Free’s mother, Frances Free, passed away last night. Free posted on his group’s Facebook page: [EDIT, 6/18/12: Broken link removed.]

At 9:45pm est. time tonight, my precious Mom went home to be with Jesus. She’s up in heaven with my Dad. She took her last breath with a smile on her face. She must have seen the face of Jesus as he welcomed her home. Thank you all for your prayers and posts. Keep my family in your prayers. Brian

She had suffered a massive stroke several days before. Free’s father, Jim, passed away last October, so this has been a difficult season in his life.

He could not have recorded the title track of his latest CD, Never Walk Alone, at a better time:

Incidentally—well, actually, not incidentally, for God makes no mistakes—this song is actually the current #1 Singing News hit. It’s only the group’s third, joining “For God So Loved” and “Long as I Got King Jesus”—and it’s a well-crafted song that deserves to stand with those other two.

  1. My prayers are with Brian and his family at this time. Those of us who lose our surviving parent understand the sorrow that he must be feeling. Those of us who had Godly parents also know the sense of victory that he feels.

May God’s peace and solace be yours in t his season, Brian.

  2. What I hadn’t realized till just now is that the song “Never Walk Alone” is actually the #1 Singing News hit right now. It’s the group’s third, joining “Long as I Got King Jesus” and “For God So Loved.” What timing!

  3. The first time I heard ur song never walk alone my father had passed away joining my brother and my mother. They all are at home with my king JESUS. Im sorry that you lost your mother. I have found that knowing that they are not suffering anymore I would never wished they were still her, but at times i catch myself wisging that i could be there in heaven with all my family and friends and to kneel at the feet of my sweet jesus.

May God be with you. I love to sit and listen to your group. Keep praising God and spread his word everywhere go.
