2011 AbsolutelyGospel Awards announced

AbsolutelyGospel announced their 2011 awards last night at a ceremony in Smyrna, Tennessee. Unlike last year’s event, this one was not streamed live online, so the coverage here is naturally far more limited. The full list is here; [EDIT, 2/21/13: Broken Link Removed.] highlights include:

  • Song of the Year: “Born to Climb” – Jeff & Sheri Easter
  • Album of the Year: A Tribute to the Cathedral Quartet – Ernie Haase & Signature Sound
  • Breakthrough Artist of the Year: Beyond the Ashes
  • Male Vocalist of the Year: Michael English (Gaither Vocal Band)
  • Female Vocalist of the Year: Karen Peck Gooch (Karen Peck & New River)
  • Songwriter of the Year (Artist): Joseph Habedank (The Perrys)
  • Songwriter of the Year (Professional): Kenna West
  • Best Live Performer: Booth Brothers
  • Traditional Album of the Year: A Tribute to the Cathedral Quartet – Ernie Haase & Signature Sound
  • Progressive Album of the Year: Never Walk Alone – Brian Free & Assurance

  1. Hard to argue with these awards. The EHSS album is great and its good to see Michael English get some more recognition. Of course I believe GVB is far and away above any other SG group so I may be a little biased.
