Sony’s Thoughts: How Can You Say No

Thorns on His head, a spear in His side
Yet it was a heartache that made Him cry
He gave His life so you would understand
Is there any way you could say no to this man

Mickey Cates wrote this song in 1980 but a few days ago, God brought it back to my mind. I’ve heard it sung for altar calls; however, I’d like you to read the words today and think of the times in your life when you’ve said “No” to Jesus. If there’s anything in your life that you are not surrendering, you are in essence saying “No.”

It seems like so often we harshly judge others who blatantly turn their back on our Savior but Scripture makes it clear that “judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17). We are inexcusable. Christ gave up everything for all mankind but we who profess to bear His name are the ones who are most held responsible, for we understand Who we are saying “No” to!

Jesus is here, His arms open wide
You could see Him with your heart if you’ll stop looking with your eyes
He’s left it up to you; He’s done all that He can
Is there any way you could say no to this man?
