Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. 2/7: Here We Are Again, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound (Stowtown / Provident)

    • Thanks! My list only goes for two months each month – so I’m planning to mention that one next month.

  2. When I get the Greater Vision CD, should I tag it with a release year of 2011 or 2012? This is the kind of pressing question that consumes my mind. 🙂

    • I went out to see them last night, and bought the CD. It says (c) 2011 on the back, and I was able to buy it on their table, so I put 2011 down.

      • Great! How was it? Concert review forthcoming?

      • It was great, though not a full concert – only about 45 minutes – since a ventriloquist and preachers (only making jokes) were also scheduled on the program.

I think I posted about this a month or two back – I’ve pretty much quit doing concert reviews.

  3. Love that new Greater Vision Cd.

  4. Is that John Berry who was a country singer back in the 90s? Hope so because he has a great voice.

    • Yes it is! Although he’s included Christian songs on his past projects, this is his first fully-Christian CD.

    • Yep, a quick search seems so. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/748271439/john-berry-realmanrealliferealgod

I did have at least one of his CDs (with Your Love Amazes Me) and I think a Christmas one. I just discovered tonight something interesting. He apparently quit one of his country labels when they refused to cut the song “Sanctuary” saying it is was too Christian. That makes me respect him that much more.

  5. My submissions:

Chuck Wagon Gang: The Best Is Yet to Be (December 6- Song Garden)
    Anchormen: Believe (January 24- RiverSong?)

    • Thanks! Come to think of it, Song Garden didn’t reply to my monthly email this time. So that’s why I didn’t have the CWG one up.

      • I noticed it based on searches on Springside’s site (Paul & Sheila Heil’s music service). That’s where I saw the info about the NQC dvd, too.

  6. Daniel, do you know if Signature Sound have any info out on their upcoming album? I couldn’t find anything using Google.

    • Not that I can find.

    • What kind of info you looking for?

  7. OK. 🙂
