Tanner Stahl leaving Soul’d Out Quartet

Tanner StahlLate last night, Tanner Stahl announced on his Facebook page that he is leaving Soul’d Out Quartet.

A couple of months ago, Ashley and I felt led to begin praying the Prayer of Jabez. Things started happening in our lives! We were determined, no matter what happened we were going to trust Him and stick to His plan. God started closing doors He wanted closed and opening doors that He wanted opened. It has been amazing to watch Him work in our lives! One of the doors He closed was Soulโ€™d Out Quartet. The hardest part of this change in our life is saying goodbye to all of the many friends we have gotten to know and love over the last five years. We want to thank you for your love, support, and encouragement— it never went unnoticed and was always greatly appreciated! Wherever He leads, we will go—please continue to pray for us and we will continue to pray for you. God bless you all and Merry Christmas!

Watch for the news about his replacement shortlyโ€”likely within a week’s time.

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. For those in the loop on the replacement: Please do not post it here. If you do, I’ll have to delete it. Please permit the group Tanner’s replacement is leaving to announce on their own schedule. Thanks, and we should all be able to talk about it soon!

  2. I’ll miss Tanner. As I said in my post on this, he was present for some of the group’s best years and projects and was a part of the lineup that won Horizon Group of the Year. He’s a great singer and I’m sure we’ll see and hear him again soon.

As far as the replacement… hold on to your hats. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Yes, sir, it’s going to be good! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Almost too good…. Daniel, I hope you get to post it before anyone else..SHOCKWAVES! Lol

  4. Looks like everyone knows already except me. From the posts I’ve read, I’m going to guess that it’s David Phelps! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Since when is Phelps a BARITONE? ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Well, I must admit for someone reason I had tenor in my mind. Shows how much I know about Soul’d Out. But I am pretty confident that David Phelps could sing baritone. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Oh, I imagine he could, but who would want him to?

By that I mean – you show up at a concert, Phelps is on stage, and doesn’t hit a single high note all night!

      • But, boy, did he evermore blend! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • David could and has sung baritone. For one thing he has the range as he can sing a low E. Also, on one of the songs at the GVB Reunion that I believe Wes, Michael and David did (perhaps Daystar), I am relatively certain Wes did tenor and David baritone.

  5. I do have a real guess now, but I won’t say in case I’m right.

  6. I’ll miss Tanner but I cannot wait to hear the new member of SOQt!!! As Aaron said…. Hold onto your hats folks!

I as hope to hear Tanner singing again real soon!

  7. How is it that everyone knows this new member but me?

When will the official announcement be made?

    • I’d imagine it’ll either be before the end of this month, or in early January, since the new singer’s debut will be that month.

  8. I imagine it has already been done. ๐Ÿ˜‰
