The Great Big Giveaway

Over the years, I’ve accumulated quite a few duplicate CDs, Tapes, and LPs (and a few I simply don’t need.) I’d like to give the following away, first come first served, with one catch: I don’t want to ship these. I want to give these to people in person, perhaps at a concert we both attend. Anyone interested?

  1. Now you have me thinking of Avalon’s “Adonai” and “Testify to Love” and Dallas Holm’s “Through the Flame”

    • Those are three of the downsized. πŸ™‚

  2. Thanks for this, Daniel. I’d like the three Freemans tapes, if that’s not being overly greedy. Is the Convention too far away to exchange them? Thanks again.

    • If we can find a mutual event sooner, I’d be happy to give them to you. (No, it’s not too greedy, and I wouldn’t mind giving you more, if we can cross paths.)

Two things about NQC, though: (1) It can be almost impossible to find someone not manning a booth, even if you know what they look like! (2) I’m giving serious thought to going to the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion this year, instead, so I’m not sure I will be at NQC.

      • Understood. And I remember you saying recently your cell phone was for emergency-only purposes. You’re right then, it would be nearly impossible to meet there.

      • Come to think of it, I wouldn’t mind mailing you the tapes. Send me your address via the contact form, if you would. Tapes are pretty cheap to mail, and I have some padded envelopes that would work for them. It’s primarily the mp3s that I wanted to avoid.

      • Sounds great. Will do. Thanks.

      • MP3’s are real easy to mail (via email). I think you meant LPs. πŸ˜‰

      • Yep. Multi-tasking bites again. πŸ™‚

      • Gasp! You’re not going to NQC? I find that hard to believe seeing how involved you are in SG. πŸ™‚

      • Do you realize how expensive the NQC experience can be? It’s expensive enough that many people can only afford to do one major event. I’ve never been to the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion, but I keep hearing people talking up how incredible it is. I’ve wanted to do it some time, and I’ve thought that maybe this is the year.

  3. Hmm…speaking of convention…according to the NQC webpage the Dove Brothers have been removed from the schedule. They were set for the quartet night on Wednesday night, plus they were on for either Friday or Saturday too. Interesting…

    • Very odd. It goes without saying they are NQC favorites.

  4. I would love the 2 best of the Gann Brothers CDs. I remember hearing several really good songs by them on the radio back in the 90’s. However, I’m not sure when we would meet because we don’t have many concerts in Mississippi, and I’m guess you don’t come to Mississippi very often.

    • As a matter of fact, I’ve never been to Mississippi in my life!

As I told Jordan above, it’s mainly the LPs that are too big to package efficiently and mail cheaply. It probably wouldn’t cost more than $2 in postage to send you the Gann Brothers CDs, and I can spring for that easily enough. Just shoot me your mailing address via the contact form. πŸ™‚

      • Thanks Daniel! That would be great! Maybe you will make it to Mississippi one day. πŸ™‚

  5. Update: All the tapes have been claimed, and all the CDs except for the Overman Family CD have been claimed. πŸ™‚
