4 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. Has Daywind pushed the Brian Free & Assurance and Sisters’ releases to later dates? According to the Daywind’s site, Brian Free & Assurance’s Oak Tree video, Anything Is Possible, releases next week. I spoke with Matthew Holt, who plays on the entire project, and he said that, as of the first of February, they had just started editing the video.

Either way, here are Daywind’s listed release dates:

03/06: Anything Is Possible (dvd), Brian Free & Assurance (Daywind)
    04/03: A cappella, Sisters (Daywind)
04/17: Celebrate Me Home (dvd), Perrys (Daywind)

Also, Guy Penrod has a hymns project releasing March 26 on the Gaither label. The cd includes a duet with George Beverly Shea on “Does Jesus Care?”.

    • Come to think of it, Dani (their publicist) didn’t get back to me this time around.

  2. Could you tell me where the tall base singer from the Dove Brothers has gone? I noticed a new bass singer when I watched the NQC 2011 video. I was just wondering if he’s with a new group….Thanks

    • He’s off the road. Their original bass singer, Burman Porter, has returned.
