Songs from Philemon

This is the fifty-seventh entry in a series on Songs from the Books of the Bible.

Southern Gospel songs focus on many of the highest themes known to mankind—songs of Salvation, the Cross, the Resurrection, and eternity. But critics claim that they focus on these themes to the exclusion of other Biblical themes which are appropriate and perhaps necessary to address in song.

For how many chapters in Philemon can we find Southern Gospel songs addressing their themes?

  1. Love that Tom Hayes song, one of the finest out-of-Scripture songs I know. One of my favorite blog posts I’ve written, which no one commented on, and maybe no one read, was a study of this song’s lyrics. I got a mind to post it again some time, it was so good. 🙂

    • Brian I remember reading it! I didn’t comment, but I remember reading it lol =P
