Tim Duncan’s son seriously injured

Bass singer Tim Duncan’s oldest son was in a serious accident; he requested prayer via his Facebook page:

We are asking for everyone to please pray for our oldest son Breck. He had a head on collision this evening and was life flighted to Vanderbilt Trauma Center. He is currently in ICU with multiple facial fractures, fractured foot and fractured L5 vertebrae. We are now waiting to see what time he will be going to surgery. We are praying but we are also THANKING God for having his hands on him today!

Duncan sings bass for Canton Junction and sang in the past for Poet Voices and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound.

  1. That sounds quite serious, but thank the Lord it could have been worse, much worse.
Our prayers are with Tim and family for his boy’s recovery and – given the severity of the fractures – our prayers are for the Lord’s hand to be upon all the medical and surgical teams who work on his case.

The “Great Physician’s Touch” is indeed the balm that can heal, not only the breaking hearts of the family, but also the body of the dear boy as well.

Many will be praying for the young man today and in the days ahead. May the Lord be gracious and heal him, in His Sovereign will.

  2. Many prayers for this precious family. I am praying that God has wrapped his arms around both Tim and Melissa Let the healing begin!

  3. Tim and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of need. We serve such an awesome God that he has your son wrapped tightly in his arms already healing him. Our God will give you the strenght to endure. Prayers coming your way.

  4. God, bind up this young man with your great healing power. Let this precious family feel your sheltering arms around them.
“The Lord himself goes before you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

  5. I am also keeping the Duncan’s in prayer. May they be comforted knowing that so many are praying for Breck.

  6. We have the Duncan family covered with prayer and especially pray that God will keep his loving arms around Tim & Melissa’s son, Breck as he deals with the injuries from the auto accident. HE has his arms around each and every member of this family as Breck heals from his injuries. God Bless!

  7. Tim, my husband and I have Breck in our prayers. There is nothing impossible for God to do. He is there right now with Breck in the name of Jesus, He’ll come out of this. Our prayers go to you and Melissa that God give you strength and comfort you now and in the days to come. God is good, He will not fail you.

  9. Any up date on Breck’s condition?

    • There was a post on Facebook that said although its gonna be a long recovery , he looks great and is on the mend. He had surgery on his foot yesterday, which went well (even though its gonna be about 3 months until he can put weight on it ). They’re giving his back more time to see how it does on its own. In spite of several fractures in his face, he is said to look great.

      • Thanks for the update! I looked earlier for one, when Stacy asked, and didn’t see one then.

      • Thanks so much. I had not seen an update, but have been thinking of them every day.

  10. Melissa Duncan posted this earlier:

Brecks surgery went great! They were able to repair all the broken bones and toes with screws and pins. They are hoping he won’t suffer permanent damage to that foot. Today they found another fracture in his other foot so now…. He has a cast on both legs. I am sorry it took so long to post but we have been busy all day waiting for all the different doctors and tests being done. We appreciate everyone keeping us in your prayers. This is the beginning of a long recovery for him!!

    • Sorry to learn of accident to Breck. Pray for full recovery. Pray for family at this traumatic time. Love from Australia

  11. The Duncan family are in my prayers….have followed Tim for years. My heart is broken for this lovely family. God will provide healing for Breck and comfort for Tim and Melissa.

  12. Update from Tim: “Breck had a good night last night. He is definitely back to his funny self. I told him I would trade places with him if I could and without missing a beat he said I wish you could! Physical Therapy will be in today to evaluate him. He is scheduled for Facial surgery at 8:00 am wed. morning. I want to thank everyone for the prayers, texts and calls. It means more to us than you all will ever know!!”

    • Thanks so much, Daniel. I look to you and this sight for my SoGo news and it is wonderful to have a source to keep us updated. Thank you for all you do.

  13. An update from Tim:

Brecks (first) surgery went great!

Just talked with the ENT/Ortho surgeon and he explained the surgery for Wednesday morning at 8:00 am. It will take anywhere from 6-7 hours if everything goes as planned. This will be a difficult one, he said it is very painful and recovery is slow. We were informed he will need surgery on his R foot/ankle in the morning also. This one will take about 2 hours. This will be a long difficult day for him and us. We are praying for God to guide the surgeons and Brecks pain to be eased. We love and appreciate all of you!

    • DANIEL CAN YOU PLEASE E MAIL ME AND TELL ME IF TIM HAS A WEB PAGE AND IF SO HOW DO I GET TO IT IM NEW AT THE COMPUTER THING AND I DONT KNOW ALOT ABOUT HHOW TO DO THINGS ON IT THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS

      • He does, but I can’t remember it or find it at this moment. Perhaps one of the other readers remembers.

  14. Another update: Breck has a surgery at 4 PM today.

  15. Update: “The ortho surgeon came in and said to Breck: buddy we’ve decided to change up your surgery. We are now going to do both of them at the same time. While I work on your foot and ankle, the face guys are gonna work on your face. That way we don’t have to keep you under anesthesia for 8-9 hours, it will only be about 6-7. Breck responded: well it don’t matter to me I hope to be sleeping so either way 6 or 8 hours don’t matter. I just know I’m starving for a real meal and the sooner you do it the sooner I can chew food! We didn’t have the heart to tell him he won’t be chewing food for a while.”

  16. UPDATE: Breck is in surgery now.

  17. Our love and prayers go out to Tim, Mellissa and Breck at this time. Our God ia faithful and able to heal every broken bone and our prayer is that HE will do just that for Breck. And for Mom and Dad we pray for peace and strength.
