I’ve already covered most of the big stories for the week in the daily posts. The one I didn’t get to till now was that the Gaither organization has announced who will be filling in for Guy Penrod for the rest of the year (and thus confirming Guy is out for the rest of the year):

  • 12/6 – Mark Lowry & David Phelps

  • 12/8 – David Phelps
  • 12/11 – Mark Lowry & Jason Crabb
  • 12/12 – Mark Lowry & Jason Crabb

2 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. Honestly, I’m starting if it could be the beginning of the end of Guy with GVB. I know its not something we like to think about, but sometimes we need to face the facts.

I think this is part of why Bill is rotating the different fill-ins; to give a decent sample size of the guys worth considering. I find it interesting that Mark is doing twice as many dates as Jason and David. Is it a little more than coincidence?

I haven’t heard Mark with the group, but the other two sound real good. It will be interesting to monitor this situation.

Whatever happens, we know that God is in control of this situation.

  2. I’m clinging to the hope that Kevin Williams and Rory Rigdon both took sabaticals and both came back same as ever.
