Interview with Daniel J. Mount

We had the opportunity to interview Daniel J. Mount, editor of, at our homeΒ on November 3rd, 2012. Β

Join us for a fun “round-table” discussion with Daniel, in which we talked about everything from the beginnings of Southern Gospel Blog to which President had the biggest frown. Β Also, don’t miss the hilarious blooper reel!

Thanks Daniel for letting us interview you, and for your patience as we had a great time laughing with you!

– Sam, Jayme, and Caleb Garms

15 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. We loved your questions, especially the one about the teapot!

    Hilarious interview! We loved it!

Just one correction, Mom says it was her brother, not Dad’s brother, who played the alphabet block game with the 18 month old Daniel!

We look forward to your next interview!

    • Oh, dear, so I’ve been telling that story wrong for the last 15 years?

      • LAs – I’m up for it! πŸ™‚

    • Thanks so much for adding some really great questions yourselves! We’re glad you liked it – we only practiced it once a couple minutes before the interview.

There were a LOT more bloopers, but we didn’t put those on. We didn’t want anybody to hurt themselves by laughing too hard! πŸ˜†

      -The LAs for TGF

P.S. We hope to do another interview with Daniel some other time…SOON! πŸ™‚

  2. That was great, i loved it! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you! We enjoyed doing it! πŸ™‚

  3. My two favorite parts:
    1. Caleb: “I’ve been in 4 states alive”
    2. Daniel: “I don’t like to be normal”

And the bloopers were hilarious, as always!

    • Would you believe … those are just a fraction of the bloopers, and I’m not even sure those are the craziest ones! πŸ™‚ In fact, Sam walked away from the interview thinking it was a disaster! (Poor Sam!) Credits go to his big sister, Taylor, for salvaging portions that made sense!

    • @Josh – Those are some of our favorite lines too, and we’d also probably also add Daniel’s “The question is now off the wall”! πŸ˜†

  4. That was great!! Good job Garms Family!!

    • Thanks, Ross! It was our pleasure. πŸ™‚

  5. You guys need to get together more often. As you all had a great and funny time. Sure that there are more bloopers!

    • I do believe that Sam, Jayme, Caleb, and I all ended the visit hoping it wouldn’t be long at all till we crossed paths again. πŸ™‚

    • We definitely look forward to the next time we can get together with Daniel; we had a great and hilarious time, as the interview shows. πŸ™‚

      • I loved what Leesha said the last evening I was up there – that it was probably just as well that the visit came to an end when it did so that we didn’t die from laughing too hard! πŸ™‚
