13 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. I want to take this opportunity to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the USA. May this day and weekend be filled with loads of blessings, family and friends.

    • Thanks! I suppose I had assumed that you were also one of my U.S. readers – I guess I was mistaken!

  2. I am thankful for many things. The blessings of God in my life are too many to count. I am also thankful for this blog about the best music in the world! Thanks Daniel for all you do to promote and educate us about Southern Gospel. Happy Thanksgiving!

    • Thanks! It is a pleasure and delight! Thanks for your comments; more than anything else, it’s feedback from readers like you that keeps me going. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

  3. Focusing on “things Southern Gospel or otherwise”…

    …Redskins or Cowboys???

    • Who are they? I assume you’re probably not talking about historical cowboys?

      • It’s a decades-long rivalry in the National Football League. The Cowboys are based in Dallas and the Redskins are based in Washington, DC.

        They compete today.

      • OK.

      • Did they have cowboys when the Piligrims came to America.
We had alot Indians in our neighborhood during those early days.
The Piligrims invited the indians to the first Thanksgiving.
I heard of Massasoit and Squanto long before Romo and Jimmy Johnson.

  4. Just want to wish my fellow Americans a “Happy Thanks Giving”..we have so much to be thankful for..God is good!…we have so much to be thankful for in the U.S.A and up here in Canada. It is wonderful that we still have the freedom to proclaim the Gospel. The freedom in Christ is what it is all about…Thank You Lord!!!….and because of this we can have a blog page to come to..and learn, share, and meet others who are like minded. Thank you Daniel for this…thank you for the fantastic information you provide…about the greatest music on earth…may God continue to bless you!!!…….

    • Thanks! He does, and may He bless you, too! Happy belated Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends! 🙂

  5. I’ve been thinking about gratitude and thankfulness a lot, lately. I feel like we’re living in an underappreciated land of Plenty. Yet, we’re never happy or joyus as worshippers of Christ. And I’m thankful and grateful for the Grace our God gives us for being human and imperfect, and just real people trying to live life 101 the best way we know how. I know on this side of heaven, I am a broken sinner who needs God, and not just only in the good times, but in the “bad” times, too. I have to continually remind myself in both times that God is in Control. You all have a nice, safe, and, healthy Thankgiving day, and pray for all of the human race…I never turn down prayer!!! And let the Holidays begin, and the Holiday Spirit continue for the rest this year and 2013!
