Valerie Crist replaces Breana Crist in The Crist Family

Breana Crist

Breana Crist, one of The Crist Family’s two alto singers, will leave the group on February 26th. She got married last year, and explains:

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under Heaven… a time to plant and a time to uproot… Now, after eight years and over a thousand concerts later, I am writing this letter to tell you that the time has come for me to ‘uproot’ from this ministry and follow God with my husband to the next stage of life He wants to take us through together. I am so excited to see where God takes Josh and me as we seek to follow his leading in our marriage.

Rich Crist, Breana’s father (and group manager), added:

We will miss Bre a whole bunch! We are so thankful that God gave us these years with Bre and we will never forget the blessing of traveling and singing together side by side. Our love and support go with her and Josh as they step into the next stage of life together. Now…how ‘bout some grandkids!

Breana will be replaced by her younger sister Valerie Crist. Valerie will start singing with the Crist Family in February; Breana’s last date with the group is January 26th.

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.

I pray the absolute best for the whole family. I also hope that sensible adult takes their comments elsewhere. Simply not needed or appreciated here.

    • Yes, Breana will definitely be missed!

I immediately recognized that the second half of sensibleadult’s comment didn’t fit within the comment rules. It wasn’t until I re-read it just now that the implications of the first half just hit me. So I completely deleted the comment.

  2. Praying as Breana takes the next step that the good Lord has for her in life. And welcome Valerie to the family!

  3. I did not see “sensible adult”‘s comment, but if it contained anything bad about Bre, then it was completely off-base. She is one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people (not just Southern Gospel artists) that I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet and interact with, and she will be sorely missed.

    • “sensible adult”‘s comment fell outside the comment guidelines and has since been deleted.

  4. The 2013 nqc schedule is up
