Four Southern Gospel Websites Merge

Four Southern Gospel websites announced this morning that they will be merging in one week: Diana Brantley’s SGConcerts, Phil Boles’ Phil Boles on Southern Gospel, Steve Eaton’s Southern Gospel Views from the Back Row, and David Bruce Murray’s / Kyle Boreing’s MusicScribe. For now, they will be blogging atΒ sogospelbackrow.wordpress.com.

They announced that they will be accepting suggestions about what domain they should use as their permanent blogging home. I will suggest publicly what I have suggested privately: MusicScribe is one of the most recognizable brands in the Southern Gospel blogging world. With eight and a half years of history, I believe it has been going for over twice as long as any of the other merging blogs. At any rate, David Bruce Murray is an absolute institution in the genre, Steve Eaton has the best column series ideas in this genre, Diana Brantley is the Queen of Southern Gospel on YouTube, and Phil Boles provides a welcome international perspective. So this site will certainly be a must-read.

  1. So that’s what all this “Change” was about :-)…Last time someone touted “Change” a little over 4 years ago I was disappointed…Gladly I like this change.

    I will be reading…

    • Yeah, I have a lot more “Hope” about this “Change”! πŸ™‚

    • When you look at your paycheck, you’ll see you got exactly what you were promised. You’re now working for change rather than dollars. LOL

      • Well, actually, I am doing better off financially than I was four years ago (as a 22-year-old recently out of college). But I don’t give Obama the credit for that, πŸ™‚

  2. Daniel has a good idea.
Stick with a well known brand with a umbrella which would encompass the respected bloggers.
To be honest, it was not the change that I was expecting so I will have to wait a little longer.

  3. Cool idea! I’ll throw a name into the hat for y’all to choose from, southerngospelcentral.com. or tanneristhebomb.com lol! Y’all have a good one! πŸ™‚

    • Tanner
Good thing you did not used the letters “er” after your second suggestion.
You sure be put on the drone list.
Smart enough not to spell out the whole url with the “er” or would be joining you on the list.
MusicScribe is still a good name as I apologize for jumping the gun on the naming process over at [EDIT, 3/16/13: Broken link removed.]
