Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. I understand that Legacy Five is releasing a new CD shortly.

    • Perhaps they are! I hadn’t heard from Daywind to that effect, though.

      • According to L5 Facebook page they are releasing a CD and the Jubilee 3 DVD ,both in April. That’s all the knowledge I have about this.

      • Thanks!

      • Legacy Five’s new CD is called “On Tour” and appears to consist of live cuts of group standards (“I Stand Redeemed”, “Vessel Of Mercy”, “I Found Grace”, “That’s What Grace Is For”) from their concerts. They are billing it as “5 Cities, 5 Days, 5 Voices.”

      • Thanks, Brandon! I’m inclined to hold off posting it until someone who knows posts whether it’s a Daywind release or a table project.

      • Is that a Daywind release? It would consistent with projects the Booth Brothers, Greater Vision, and BFA put out last year.

I hope they come out some time soon with a recording of new material.

  2. You should just start listing in a separate category “Mystery Daywind Releases”. Greater Vision, Legacy Five, Wilburn & Wilburn, Karen Peck & New River…they’ll all have something out sometime. Just nobody knows when… 🙂

    • Yes. 🙂 I had a former contact at Daywind who was great about keeping me up to date. Since she got reassigned to other duties, and her replacement came and then left, it’s been a little more hit-and-miss.

    • You can add Adam Crabb to that list of mystery releases as well! HA!

  3. This may be the first time I’ve seen the name of a part of speech in the title of a music album. 😆

    • Don’t you remember that old Statesmen song “Ain’t No Adjective for My Lord”? 🙂

  4. Since mention was made of a new L5 album; Daniel, I don’t think I have seen a review on their “Count Your Blessings” album yet… Is that yet to come?

    • Wayne, I didn’t receive a review copy of that one. (It was a table project.)

  5. thank you for getting the info out here in South Africa, now we know what to expect when. I would like to know if ernie haase & signature is releasing a dvd or cd? Secondly; i was blown away with the booth brothers dvd, and the example they are with their beliefs and faith. How would i know who distributes the southern gospel music in south africa?
Enough questions. Thanks for your time to keep us informed.
My prayers are that Jesus will bless each and everyone who serves Him.
    Regards
    Maud

  6. thank you very much for the quick reply. I have never bought on line, will it show the value in rand instead of dollar.
It’s a priveledge to walk with Jesus, but more so when we walk with Him and all His children. Thank you all for walking with me too!!!

    • You’re welcome! I wish I knew more about offline purchases in South Africa, but regrettably that’s completely outside of my area of expertise!
