Sony’s Thoughts: Jesus is Risen … and He’s Coming Again

I don’t think it’s coincidence that I’m reading through Revelation right now. Right after Jesus’ ascension, “two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:10b-11). The story didn’t end with His death. It wasn’t finished with His resurrection and the fact that He is no longer with us in bodily form. He promised to send His Spirit–which He did–and He promised to receive us unto Himself “that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3). That is a day we still have to look forward to.

Jesus warned us that, “In the world, you shall have tribulation,” but He also told us to “be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). We may not know exactly when He’s coming but He definitely will come. Our job is to watch and be ready.

As you think of the cross and everything Jesus went through to offer you forgiveness for your sins, think about your life. Are you living a life of surrender or are you still trying to have your life and Heaven too? It doesn’t work that way. If He is not Lord of all, I daresay He is not Lord at all. He died that you might have eternal life but whether you accept that life is up to you. I pray you will. He loves you so much. Please take time to examine your heart today. It doesn’t matter how many years you have gone to church or how Godly YOU think you are. The question is, “What does God think about the way you’re living your life?” Repent today and find joy and peace like you’ve never known.
