New CDs releasing at or around NQC

NQC week is always the busiest time of the year for new CD releases. Some groups have a street date that falls during the week; others go for a month before or a month later, but have NQC as the first major event when they have the CD available.

I thought it would be helpful to have a list of the CD titles for those of us making lists and heading to convention in a few days. So here are the ones that come to mind:

  • Booth Brothers, Greater Vision, Legacy Five – Jubilee
  • Booth Brothers – title not known (? on availability)
  • Browns – Heritage Hymn Collection
  • Collingsworth Family – The Answer
  • Cross 4 Crowns – It Just Started For Me
  • Dixie Echoes – I’d Rather Have Jesus
  • Dixie Melody Boys – Singing the Classics
  • Ernie Haase & Signature Sound – Every Light that Shines at Christmas (? on NQC availability)
  • Gaither Vocal Band – Reunited
  • HisSong – Journey to the Sky
  • Hoppers – Unforgettable
  • Inspirations – The Son Came Down
  • Isaacs – Almost Acapella
  • Jeff & Sheri Easter – Expecting Good Things
  • Karen Peck & New River – No Worries
  • Kingsmen – Missing People
  • Legacy Five – Just Stand
  • Liberty Quartet – The Journey
  • Mark Trammell Trio – Vintage Gospel
  • Paid in Full – No Trace of Rain
  • Talley Trio – Songs You Know By Heart
  • Tribute Quartet – For this Time
  • Voices Won – Something for Everyone

Post any I missed in the comments—I’ll edit the post if applicable.

17 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. HisSong, Journey to the Sky

    • Don’t think I’d so much as heard of that one yet. I don’t think Crossroads has it in the “upcoming releases” section of their website yet.

  2. Voices Won – Something for Everyone
Released August 18, 2009 with Crossroads
They’ll be performing at NQC on Monday.

  3. I updated the post with both. 🙂

  4. We’ve got one coming out as well. =)

    • I knew that, but I don’t know the name. 🙂

  5. Expecting Good Things

    • I just updated the post – thanks!

  6. Liberty Quartet – The Journey

    • Well, duh. And when it was already on my short list of CDs I definitely don’t want to drive away from Louisville without!

      I edited the post. 🙂

  7. I highly recommend the new Isaacs’ one. I have a friend that let me listen to a preview of it and it’s tight!

  8. Daniel, thanks for this list! It’s better than the one I was going to make. Now all I have to do is pull this post up on my phone at NQC and go shopping!

One possible addition: my email from Springside this week indicated, under new releases, the Lesters have a new recording out. Not sure how new it is though.

    • You’re welcome! I thought it would be handy for that very reason—though, since I don’t have a smartphone, I’ll be printing it in advance.

Like you, I don’t know when the Lesters recording came out – it could be anywhere from 3 months ago to a month away.

  9. Hmmm, it may be good to print it out at that, since cell service can be questionable in buildings like KFEC. I think I’ll be printing, too!

  10. How about King’s Heralds’ Hymnsessions? I heard that they’re goin to release it this september.

  11. I am pretty sure the EHSS Christmas album won’t be out till October… 🙂 carry on…

  12. Desyre Jones CD “Meet Me “Here will be available at the NQC .The winner of 2008 soloist division. Recorded with Eddie Crock Co. the new Cross and Crown music. She will be ministering at NQC on Sat.
