Sony’s Thoughts: Just Stand

In his book Facing Reality, Oswald Chambers said, “It is a great deal easier to fight than to stand.” I have found myself commenting lately on how life feels like a continual battle but I have been pondering Oswald’s statement. I get tired of fighting; yet I know that I have to fight the good fight. At the same time, I need not be content with the constant battle as if it’s just a part of life, but I must learn to stand firm in my convictions, to stand fast through opposition, to stand up when satan would pull me down. As the Freemans sang in their song “Unshakable,” I want to be that rock that never rolls.

Life can be a battle but we need not let the battle beat us down. We need to be unmovable except when it comes to moving forward, full of faith and victory. “And Moses said unto the people, ‘Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will shew to you to day'” (Exodus 14:13).

God, I want to be a constant reflection of Your salvation and Your victory. With Your help, I can stand no matter what comes my way.
