12 Days of Christmas: Day 1 (Southern Gospel Singers)

The 2009 grand prize entry was written by Donna H. Congratulations!

If I had the power to give anyone any Christmas gift, my gift would be to send every Southern Gospel singer and writer to the Holy Land to see all the places they sing and write about.

Let them see the old City of Jerusalem, Gethsemane, Golgotha, the empty tomb, the Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, the “wilderness,” the Jordan River.

Let them see the places of the trials of Jesus, the Upper Room.

Let them see the tomb where Jesus called Lazarus out from the dead!

They would never sing or write the same again!

4 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. Yeah, Donna!!! When she told me she was submitting this, I told her I thought it was a winner!!! What a great idea!

  2. This is a great one. I know some of the SG artists have been to the Holy Land and I’ve seen interviews and such where they talk about their changed perspective. What a wonderful thing it would be! Thanks for this, Donna!
