12 Days of Christmas: Day 7: Blackwood Brothers

Submitted by Dorothy M.

Considering that one of the highlights of a Blackwood Brothers’ concert is the request time they had usually done at the end. Without a pianist it will be difficult to continue this impromptu tradition.

Brad White might be difficult to replace, since he was was truly one-of-a-kind, but there are many persons who would be honored and able to fill this hole.

So, my Christmas present to them would be a pianist, and that finances wouldn’t be any issue so he could perform with them for a long while.

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. The Blackwood Gospel Quartet still does a request time at the end of every concert. BGQ travels with a full time pianist, Dean Haskins, and would love to sing your requests. Check out http://www.facebook.com/blackwoodgospelquartet and watch some of the videos.
