Sony’s Thoughts: Pondering the Love of Christ

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3:17-21).

I’m sure this weekend brings different thoughts to people’s minds. For some, the cross may be the focus; for others, the resurrection brings a renewed hope and life; for me, I find myself overwhelmed with the love Christ had and continues to have for me. Without Christ, there is nothing good in me and I despise myself but, with Christ, there is hope and life and genuine love and joy.

I may never understand why a God who rules this great universe would love me to the degree that He does, or why Jesus would be willing to surrender Himself to suffer such a horrendous death so that I wouldn’t have to die. I may never understand the depth of such love but I’m thankful for it and I pray that I will be ever faithful to serve Him and that everyone around me will know the depth of my gratitude and love for Him.
