Video: Randy Crawford with Kingsmen

A YouTube user has posted over a dozen videos from Randy Crawford’s first night back with the Kingsmen. Here’s a video of Crawford taking the solo on “Meet Me at the Table”:

Other highlights are the opening song – Crawford’s first as an official Kingsmen member again – and the introductions.

It has been a number of years since the Kingsmen have been this strong vocally.

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. Now all’s they need is a bassist and to move Brandon Reese back to the drums.

  2. I have tried to apply for the electric bass position a couple of times just to see what the groups thoughts were, but never received a response. You never know where God may be leading…especially if you don’t try each door.

  3. What’s really interesting is hearing Crawford take solos that Phillip Hughes originally had (Someday, God Knows) and comparing their two styles. Crawford absolutely nails it, and while Hughes is a fine vocalist in his own right, Crawford’s style is more along the lines of what The Kingsmen have had (besides the fact that he’s been with the group before.)

    • I feel Phillip in time could have produced a great “Hamill” sound. He had some similar characteristics.
