Tracy Stuffle has heart attack; open heart surgery [today]

An update to this evening’s post, this time via Singing News:

Early reports that Tracy Stuffle had only a heart abnormality and not a heart attack were incorrect. A second test showed that he did indeed have a heart attack. He has up to 99% blockage in several arteries and is scheduled for open heart surgery tomorrow.

Pray fervently.

UPDATE [Thursday Aug. 11, 6:41 AM]: Surgery is this afternoon at 12:00 Central / 1:00 Eastern.

UPDATE 2 [6:50 AM]: Via Troy Peach’s mother-in-law, Kathy Van Horn: (EDIT, 8/3/11: Broken link removed.)

I haven’t been able to reach Katy, but here’s what I know so far. She is going to travel with the Perrys this weekend, singing for Libbi; and it will just be the trio of Katy, Troy, and Joseph. Libbi, if you read this, I know that the one thing you don’t have to worry about this weekend is the group. Troy will take care of everything for you. You just concentrate on “Sweet T.” Love you guys.

UPDATE 3 [7:57 AM]: The surgery is expected to take 4-6 hours, with five bypasses. Also, the Perrys’ Thursday concert in NC is cancelled; Troy, Katy, and Joseph will be filling out the rest of the weekend.

UPDATE 4 [12:58 PM]: The surgery has been put on hold because tests have indicated there may be an aneurysm on his heart.

6 Letters to the Editor

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. Praying! Praying that God, through the surgeon, will heal him!

  2. Praying for Tracy, that God will heal. I actually thought he didn’t look well, when I saw him at the Brumley sing last week. Made a comment to my wife and was shocked to see this this morning. Our prayers are with him and the entire group. We at “SUNDFAY MORNING’S COUNTRY,” love you all.

    Harold & Miss Bobbie

  3. My deepest prayers go to the Lord on his behalf.

  4. Praying of course for this sweet family.

Daniel, the quote from Kathy, you have type as Katy. Just wanted to give you a heads up. 🙂

  5. Praying for Tracey to get well and better soon. If you can keep me up to date on him please when you get time to.

    Your friend,
    Psalm 37:4,5
