Jerry Trammell featured in Catoosa County News

The Catoosa County News featured an interview with former Florida Boys tenor Jerry Trammell (Mark’s brother) several days ago. [EDIT, 2/21/13. Broken link removed.] The discussion of Jerry’s place in Southern Gospel music history, as well as his activities and recent health challenges since his time in the spotlight, makes it today’s fascinating read.

  1. Thank you for sharing this with us, Daniel. This is why your blog provides such a valuable service for fans of gospel music.

Jerry was always a true “quartet man”. While he never got the acclaim of his brother, it’s apparent that Jerry has a valuable testimony and witness for anyone willing to listen and observe.

  2. Some may disagree, but I think Jerry Trammell was the best tenor the Florida Boys ever had.

  3. Daniel, i agree !! With Laddie Cain a close 2nd.

  4. The Florida Boys had some great tenors over the years and JT was one of the very best. About 20 years ago – I went to see the Judds and Lee Greenwood one night and Laddie Cain was the back-up singer for Greenwood. I had not heard of him for years – and have never seen or heard of him again.
