Tony Greene in ICU with Collapsed Lung

According to several reports from around the Internet, Tony Greene of the Greenes is in Intensive Care. He had gone to the hospital earlier this week facing a possible kidney rejection, but after thousands of prayers, was able to keep the kidney. Now his lung has collapsed, and he is in critical condition. His wife TaRanda has canceled all dates for the weekend to be there. Keep them in your prayers!

UPDATE (9/28/10, 1 PM): Tony Greene has passed away.

  4. I heard about Tony and the family through the Hayes Family in Covington,Ga.
    at High Piont Baptist Church where they gave a concert and ask prayer. I grew up listening to the Greenes and Hoppers and enjoy gospel music very much. My family lift Tony and his family up in prayer and know God will put his healing hand on all of them as well as HIS GRACE.

  8. Initial reports of his passing were false. According to Dean Hopper’s twitter, he is off the ventillator and breathing on his own. He is unconscious but he hasn’t gone home yet! Please keep praying.

  9. I had the blessing of meeting Tony at the church he attended in Boone NC. I will never forget him singing “HE whispers sweet peace to me” that day, and how the HOLY SPIRIT was moving. To
    the Greene family-you will be in my thoughts and prayers…we will see Tony again!

  11. I am very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful and funny person, I had the opportunity to meet him and Taranda in my hometown of Robbins NC. I also traveled to his hometown of Boone and went to the singing on he mt. My favorite song is the Rocking Chair, I have a daughter that has gone home to be with the Lord and I know that there is a Rockingchair up in Heaven. Tony will be singing and praising God. Tony we will see you again someday!! I will be praying for your family during these difficult days ahead.

Just got thru watching the new Gaither video and the testimony of Tony and his wife what a loving tribute that he has left for her, Her words of how God fit them together and that that is why she could give him her kidney it brought tears to my eyes knowing that he has gone home to be with the One to whom all Blessings come from, you are all in my prayers. May God be with you and continued Blessings thru the difficult days ahead.
