Legacy Five recently invited a seven-year-old boy, Caleb Garms, to join them for a rendition of “I’m Feelin’ Fine.” It was caught on film; here’s the result:

Southern Gospel Journal welcomes letters to the editor. We will post the most thoughtful and insightful submissions. Ground rules: Don't attack or belittle groups or fellow posters, or advance heresies rejected by orthodox Christianity. Do keep comments positive, constructive, and on topic.
  1. I love this video! Adorable doesn’t cut it ;). I love it when Caleb goes for the high note at the end– What a little character!

    • He looks like he was one of those rare and blessed people born with a strong stage presence!

  2. Great video. And people are wondering where Southern Gospel Music will be in 30 years. A good example on the video. It’s great that there are young people interested in singing SG music. Parents should be proud of their children, bring them to concerts and get them involved. Grandma, if the parents won’t bring their kids you should bring them with you and get them interested.

  3. 😆 😆 😆 😆

This is adorable beyond words… and he’s actually on pitch a lot of the time, even the high note!

  4. My son, who is 10, loves SG music. He has been singing with our group on stage since he was 4. He has also recorded songs on our last two CD’s. We are seeing a lot of kids at our concerts and that is an encouraging sign.

  5. This happened in Baxter Minnesota the last friday in Sept. I was there. We do have SG music up here. We wish more groups would come up and pave the way so the music could expand.

    • As a fellow Minnesotan, I agree

  6. Oooh dear Lord, this youngster made me cry! I used to sing those high notes 7 years ago but can not now. Way to go boy. And Yes, southern gospel is here to stay. Its the only music that actually touches the soul with a real message. I love it

    • SG is here to stay, but to say that it’s the ONLY music that touches the soul with a real message… may be a wee bit of an exaggeration. No denying its power though!

  7. Thank you for the comments you have written! It is encouraging to me.

It was so amazing to be singing with a national top group; it was a dream come true. L5 is my favorite quartet in the whole world. I love to go to Baxter (MN) when they sing. It is exciting to go to their concerts.

-Caleb Garms, 7 (dedicated to big sister Taylor)

    • EDIT!! Big sister meant “dictated” instead of “dedicated”. Haha! 🙂

    • Caleb – it’s a delight to hear from you! 🙂

    • Way to go Caleb! 😀
